Ok everyone,
So I have been nominated for a Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Singer-Songwriter of the Year. I was nominated by a panel of music editors, writers and photographers. I am very proud of this as well as shocked. I released a CD a couple of days before I left for the UK to play a bunch of gigs over a 3 weeks period. I decided to make the CD at the last minute. So in a 10 day period over 15 weeks, we recorded, mixed and had mastered HONEY. I finished with an LP that was intended to be an EP as I wrote a couple of more songs along the way while recording. Needless to say, the gigs in the UK went ace and I got home to find WNKU 89.7 (you can stream it) playing it! The point is, the entire album is actually based on an 8 month email and phone interaction I had with someone I met on FB. SO it is sort of like the FB soundtrack of my life at that time. Hence why I am posting here about this. He was the first person I ever met online and so got sort of idealistic about it all... *Note to the anonymous--I will not do this again!! YIP!
Anyway, if you want to hear it I posted it in "Your Own Music" (I think that is what it is called?) SO go listen and tell me what you think. If you like it enough maybe you could also go to CityBeat and vote for your fellow FB newbie and her FB soundtrack?
I am actually quite surprised at the nomination seeing as it was just an album about a boy I met here and things didn't work out. I guess it must be the emotions ey? Gets em every time.
If in fact you do go and have a listen and like it at all...then by all means go here and vote.

Of course then you click the "here" to vote.
I would soooooo appreciate it.
Sorry if I offended anyone with the semi-shameless self plug....
CHEERS!

Your music is not usually my type, but I think you got a good voice, the songs are cool, and it's lovely that we have a star among us and that you were nominated. Congrats!
Like Stoozola, I couldn't find where to vote. Do check and come back to us with a direct link please? Or with some more info?
As for the lyrics, they're great. ![]()

Thank you all! I will need all the luck I can get! I mean it!!!!
As for voting, when you click the CEA link, you will be taken to the CEA page. It is in the first paragraph. It will say, "if you want to vote click here."
Only vote if you like what you hear though. I'd like to think I'd won, if I win, honestly.
I know it is not everyone's cup of tea since it is in the Folk genre but I am so glad you all took the time to listen and reply. I guess you could say it is the same genre as Neko Case or Lucinda Williams? With as much melancholy punch as Fiona? I dunno... I like playing guitar like Jimmy Page and having my head buried in my amp and my back to the crowd so I am not always so very melancholy though! And of course, it was the best of times and the worst of times those last 10 months...
K...gotta go to work now. I get home and you guys are in bed every time! Damn 5 hours time difference!

GOD!! I love you guys! I do hope one of the names that struck your fancies was The Hiders. It is with Billy that I recorded this album in The Batcave (the name of his basement that has all the recording equipment). Outside of the fiddle and a couple drums tracks, he and I did everything.
Again, you all seriously rock. I am so glad that I have come here and am starting to get to know you all. I really do hope there is some sort of meet up we can all get to as I will be in the UK in just 3 1/2 weeks!! I am thinking of moving there ya know.
Wanna hear The Hiders?
www.myspace.com/thehiders VERY GOOOOOOOD!!
OH! and you definitely have to check my faves out (who are also on the ballot)
