Has anybody heard any good covers lately?

I had heard this cover of Kanye West - Stronger on Radio 1's Live Lounge and fell in love with it. Personally I think 30 Seconds to Mars have done it much better than the original. Let me know your opinion, if you have one.

Also if you have heard any brilliant covers yourself, put the links here Smile

It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! Had not even heard of the band till they did this Surprised

Oooooh, covers........

One of my all time favourite compilations of covers are 2 CD’s worth of (often tongue in cheek) acoustic covers that an Australian radio DJ used to make his guests do live on air (often impromptu), usually something that they would never usually think of covering, e.g. Willie Nelson doing an acoustic cover of Nirvanas ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, although my personal favourites from Volume 2 were Something For Kate covering ‘Genie In A Bottle’ and Gina Jeffries covering ‘Kryptonite’ The albums are called Andrew Denton’s Breakfast Show - Musical Challenge (Volume 1 and 2)

The only track available online from these albums (as far as I know) is Neil Finn (from Crowded House, amongst others) covering Sexual Healing, at http://www.myspace.com/neilfinn

I have loads of favourites covers, one of them being another version of Sexual Healing by Ben Harper (from the Live From Mars album), although there is another live version on YouTube of him playing this song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rEJ7zImP9Q (the band introduction is a bit long, skip to around 1min40secs to hear the song itself)

Edit: Ben Harper also did a cover of Strawberry Fields Forever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YuWB1FAN-4

and although it isn't a cover, whilst you're listening to Ben Haprper, this one is good too Smile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryLqfNwSSFE

Ryan Adams is very cool, I have most of his albums. I love his older stuff (along with the Whiskeytown recordings), but find his later albums a bit too commercial for my liking. Everybody should own at least one of his albums - 'Gold' is a good starting point.

Um, covers? Mattias Hellberg does a decent cover of 'Mother & Child Reunion', The Beasts of Bourbon covered The Stones' 'Cocksucker Blues' (bet that gets auto-censored Smile ).
