these lists are totally subjective, the bands mentioned like razorlight, babyshambles cannot in my eyes be 'the best bands ever' haven't got enough material under their young belts, got to be four albums in really to see if there any good for a start;longevity & influence count for alot, I can't see that doherty being around(hopefully) for the next 12 months nevermind 10 yrs time, ask yourself will people be talking about razorlight's music in 5 yrs time..i doubt it. so my 'best' bands are (obvious one first) zep, stones, floyd, cream, james brown & his band, parliment, the doors, kinks, the who, small faces, velvet underground, can, captain beefheart, kraftwerk, the jam, the smiths, husker du, the pixies, the cure, the fall, halfman halfbiscuit, the clash, dead kennedys, pere ubu, joy division, new order, cocteau twins, public enemy,...I'm not really sure about metal bands but i'm sure deep purple, sabbath, maiden should be in there..what about slayer??? it goes alongs the lines of the stuff your into personally thats why its subjective..
