ahem i mean... they are just there..harmless really. it's just to let you know who you replied to and what you said lol. they don't disappear until the other person deletes them from thier inbox.

Sorry for the delayed reply, you didn't scare me...much.

I thought messages kept in your outbox hadn't been sent yet. That's why I was asking why they were still there. I feel a bit dim now.
