I am kind of hoping that at some point before the day, each person will have contact details with at least one other person, preferably exchange of mobile phone numbers, that way we will have a network of us all coming via mobile phone for the day, rather than one person being "group leader" and having the responsibility of keeping track of everyone.
Does that make sense?
Then on the day, some will no doubt arrange to meet one another outside, some in the cafe, etc. at various times, depending on who is planning to arrive at whatever time.
Oakman - it's open til 5pm so no doubt most will still be there and undoubtedly you wont be Billy-No-Mates when you arrive 2.30 ish, if you get someone's mobile number prior to the day, again, you will meet up with the rest of us no problem.
I just dont see this as a school outing with Teacher in charge, thats why I suggest we swap mobile numbers with whoever we wish.
We also have to bear in mind that the cafe probably isnt big enough to accommodate all of us in one go!
Still another couple of weeks to go, so not in a rush to get it all organised.

Mimib - the problem with having a secret meeting place is that people will be arriving at different times, also it is now public where we are going!
IF there were to be an unwelcome 'problem' person, well there are austere looking security guards at the V&A! Wink
As there is going to be rather a lot of us coming it makes more sense to me that we each take responsibility for ourselves and as I say link up as a network via mobile phones.
The V&A is a big place and no doubt different people will want to view different things at different times, so I envision us wandering around the place in smaller groups bumping into each other as we go along.
I am sure as raven suggests some people would like to branch off together to get some food etc. down the road there are macDs and suchlike, personally I dont want to be walking a long way in the cold, I'd rather find a few people to chat with and find a table at the V&A cafe.

I'll exchange numbers with a couple of people and track you all down on the day.

Oooh we'll be hobnobbing with the jetset!

Now I can't get that image out of my mind years ago Terry Wogan said to Lorraine Chase she looked like she'd breezed in on a cloud and she answered, "Nah, Lu'on Airpor'!" Laughing

Some possibly bad news people - but don't lose hope yet!

I'm on a court warning and may have to attend court in the next couple of weeks. This means there is a chance I'll be called to court for the day of the meet. If I get a phone call before six tonight asking me to attend tomorrow the chances are the case will be finished by next week, but if not.......Please all keep your fingers crossed that the case is postponed until after xmas!!!

Well?????? Did they ring before 6 tonight?
Is you?
Is you isnt?
Is you???????????????????????

Just a reminder to ask if everyone who's coming has by now swapped mobile phone numbers with at least one other person who is coming.
I expect to arrive around 11.30am, so will no doubt see people inside.
I have mob. nos for vanda, sue and guy, and they mine.

I was disappointed not to have gone, but I think I did make the right decision though. My mum isnt so good.
But glad you all had a grand time and hope for no last minute crises next time.
Looking forward to seeing some pics and hearing more about it.
