i'm still to be convinced that this method of dating is any use, why cant people just date the way they used to?? or why cant people get dates?? are people getting less attractive?? i think as time moves on people are losing there personality and that makes it difficult to talk to the opposite love. even a few years ago without MP3 players everyone would stop and talk to others on the street, a method of building confidence but now everyone has ear fones on and moody faces. technology has killed off peoples personality. technology is also to blame for people getting fatter, mobile phone to ring the carryout or sky plus tv to record your favourate show and watch 6hours stright. theres no more walking around outside n having a laugh, its al about guitar hero and touch screens (how long do you expect to impress a girl for with the knowledge of tapping 4different buttons or knowing the secret to getting the highest score??) i suggest everyone reads something interesting, get out more and talk to anyone you see, be funny and happy, thats what they done 30years ago, were ugly people still got married because they had something to say. flirtbox should be called i'm too scared to talk to your face and i feel confident typing to a computer that might reply, but will all go to shite if we meet up cause my photo is fake and so is my age. good luck to ya!

Its probably not dating sites that are no good, but probably the way people use them

There are areas that have a lot of members on dating sites. But for some reason some people think that there is no one in their area for them, and all the best people live 200 miles away. Why is the grass greener in other areas? Although there are people in more remoter lower populated areas, with the problems with dating that brings.

So they scan pictures and profiles for pics they like and profiles that may interest them, and often the owners of the pic/profiles do live the other end of the country from them. Although seems to be fairly acceptable to photoshop a pic a bit, and we all now you have to take profiles with a pinch of salt. But profiles and pics seem to be king.

Seems to be a lot of confusion nowadays, and over the last ten years it seems a lot of people have decided they dont want long term relationships anymore. Also over the last ten years internet technology has advanced considerably and is now in most peoples homes [maybe]. So dating sites have become big business, and taken advantage of the people now single...filled a gap

But if we didn't have the net and dating sites, then people now single would probably look locally, which would mean clubs formed locally. People would be going out meeting people in the real world more.

I dont think the problem is dating sites but the way people use them.

Being thrust back into singledom after 20 - 30 years of being in a relationship can be hard for some people, who need to regain certain social skills maybe. These people might be lacking confidence, so maybe they consider hiding behind a keyboard is easier and less threatening for them.
