How is that nasty? It's the best way to find them. Or indeed anything you want to find on the net.

Of course it was nasty. And you know it. Im sure he knows about googling, but he was asking forum members, in case there are some which we would be familiar with. Well thats how I read his question.
Using your logic, everytime there is a question mark, we could direct whoever is asking to Google. There wouldnt be much need for a forum

the site owner doesnt like us advertising other free dating sites, so for someone to post them on this site would be breaking the rules..

Noone advertised, nor posted the link to any free dating sites. Most posters have enough savvy to use PM's for this

i'd go with violet on this one. i don't want to encourage people to go elsewhere. As far as dating sites go, so far, i like this one best.

I'd also kinda go with 8legs comment too. Strange as it might seem, many people are bad at choosing the best words to search with. A survey i saw a few years back also said a lot of people don't often use more than 1 word to search.

My own additional point would be that, if the help given openly & privately is not enough then the poster can always speak for themselves and say so, and other ppl can then answer the call however they see fit.
