Sounds nasty. Hopefully it won't spread in a sort of 'survivors' styli.

It is a concern. With modern travel, something nasty could go pandemic very quickly. The WHO said the virus had the potential to become a pandemic. That's why the authorities are jumping on it, while (at the same time) trying to make soothing sounds. There will be checks at posts and airports etc - but (with the volume) it'll probably be a form to complete: 'Have you had any of the following symptoms... '
My concern there would be that a person, having ticked a few of the 'Yes' boxes, might wonder what's going to happen to them and think it'd be better getting home and to their own doctor. Then screwing it up and saying, 'Oh, I didn't get one of those forms.'
I don't think there's much we, as individuals, can do other than avoiding the affected areas, or affected people (if you could spot them) and maintaining strict hygiene.
We can't put up the barricades around our villages and towns and stop anyone entering. That's what happened the time of the plague, but they were more-or-less self-sufficient then. All I'd have - once the fridge and freezer were empty - are my camilias, roses, and primroses, etc. The park has squirrels and pigeons etc. Yeah, it'd be tough, without Tescos or Sainsburys etc.

The same happened in 1976 in the USA......let's wait and see. In Europe (including the UK of course ) there is plenty of vaccine for the case it also gets here...but I think it will sooner or later just stop like the bird flu....

Its gonna mainly be of concern to anyone already poorly equipped to deal with a case of flu. The elderly, the already sick, people in '3rd world' countries with little or no access to medicines etc - and therefore also of major concerns to governments through the cost of care etc
