From a south african female my view on this is that even when oppression is taken away from the oppressed they still feel oppressed as this is a saftey blanket that can be used to remind you what you did and to beat and smother other people with it. It makes them feel better about themselves and what they do justifying it to other oppressed people around the world.

The problem about africa is that she has a races of stubborn children who do not want to be told how to run and do things because they have suffered at the hand of white man for so many centuries and its this ingrained hatred of the white man that will not change. They were taught to crawl but will not have any help to run.

There seems to be an ethos that resonates around africa, reap as much as I can today even if there is a tomorrow because we care not about the future just what we can get for now, we care not about our fellow man because if he were in the same place he would steal my food.

I dont have any practical experience of Africa, and some of what you say may well be true. Seems to me Africa is everything good and bad about planet earth.
