And quite bloody right too IMO.

It is reported in the press today that the RBS are wanting a female 17yr old protester who pleaded guilty to throwing some computer equipment through a window at the G20 protests in London, to pay £40k damages.

Her lawyer says it is an outrageous claim as the girl has no job as she spends her time going from protest camp to protest camp with her 19yr old boyfriend.

Well it is about bloody time the bleeding tree hugger (and her boyfriend) got herself a job (and life) and started to pay off the £40k as right now it is the British tax payer who will be paying for it.

Makes me laugh when the lawyer is trying to say it's an outrageous claim. The girl (and lots of others) are trying to live in a society where indivduals have no accountability for their actions. I couldn't care less if she has a job or not, I'd say fine her but her paying 20p a week out of her doll allowance in fines is going to be no deterence. She has been caught breaking and entering with a bit of criminal damage thrown in for good measure. Political motives aside, she should be tried accordingly regardless of her age.

You're right, if she's broken the law she should be tried accordingly and she should be made to pay.
But... But... Taking some of her doll allowance!
C'mon! God, that's so cruel!
Only a judge who's never pined his heart out for the Grovvy Girl Paris Hilton Shagwear outfit could do that!

She should be covered in chocolate and thrown into a lesbian cage-fighting arena. Preferably on Tuesday, when I have time to watch it.

Looking at this from a slightly different angle: what she has achieved is breaking into a heavily policed/fortified (hahaha) building and acquiring a piece of expensive intelligence/communication equipment which she then deftly neutralised and extracted from the site.

She should be sent into Afghanistan to storm Al Queda strongholds.
