unfortunately, personally I think the only (or at least main) publicity this gets will be for the media to take the mickey out of the guy. Surprised there isnt a joke about it in our joke section yet.......someone's slow this week..... Confused
If it could highlight the problem/issues in a positive way then that will be a great thang though.

The first thing my fellah commented on on hearing this news was about his size. I was not amused. Bulimia is not the same as anorexia on many levels.

I've never been bulimic but I have gone thru phases in the past were I'd gorge for weeks and than suddenly eat nothing but raw fruit n veg for weeks. Whilst the latter may be good for me, yo-yoing isn't.

This story has thepotential to do some good, lets hope the madie don't lambast it before too many bulimics go into hiding instead of seeking the help that they need.

i can see the 'funny' side to it, but there's a time and a place for everything - bulimia is a serious issue that should have been sorted out a while ago i think

I wasnt saying there *should* be a joke here about it, far from it.........I meant that sometimes people are too quick to find summat funny about a serious issue, which kind of dilutes, or desensitises, the issue. If that makes sense? If the media especially start off by cracking funnies about poor Prescot not being skinny then the serious nature and opportunity for bringing the whole problem to the forefront, is lost.
Alot of people dont know or understand the difference between anorexia and bulimia and mis-information, funny or serious, does not help.
