Probably so that Brown and co can avoid a draconian pre-election budget and then blame the Tories when they have to dish out the nasty medicine after they win.

I'd like for everybody in the country to abstain from voting. Democracy doesn't work. people treat political parties like football teams, voting for a single party their whole life on matter what. people that switch off the news as soon as they hear a politician speak go to vote based on whatever political views bob and tom in the pub are spewing this week. Sick people that rely on the nhs vote bnp, jeopardising the care they receive. This is how the decisions are made, by these people. Personally, i want nothing to do with it.

You mean some people actually vote based on the pre-election BS they spew?

There are three types of lies: Lies, damn lies and statistics. With that in mind, the party in power relies on the statistics fed to it by the Civil Service to gather their information. Since statistics can be so easily manipulated to show whatever you want them to, it stands to reason that the people who really run this country are those who remain in in place no matter what party gets into power, those who feed the information to the upper tiers of government.

You vote in a face, nothing more.

You already have your wish!
You have nothing to do with it now.
It doesn't matter who votes and who abstains, you will still have no say in the decisions taken and no control over the way your MP votes.
He (or she) will not come back to you, for any vote that's taken.
The next best alternative: That he might vote according to his conscience, is not what happens.
He will be told how to vote.
So he's not representing you or he's not representing himself, so who is he representing?
Whoever it is, it's not you!
You have nothing to do with it!

You can thank Santa early for granting you this wish! Razz
