The Foreign Secretary today 'deplored' the loss of life during the interception of a flotilla of ships carrying aid to Gaza.
Up to 19 people were killed after Israeli commandos boarded ships carrying 10,000 tonnes of aid en route from Cyprus.
Another 26 people are being treated in two Israeli hospitals for injuries sustained in the assault.

Details of what happened remain sketchy after Israel imposed a news blackout, preventing activists on board the ships from contacting the outside world.

But it believed troops were attacked with knives and metal pipes as they attempted to board one of the ships from a helicopter.

The whole of the middle east is against Israel just because of their religion. I'm not sure if you are complaining that they did a heinous act or just telling us, but, how many white faces or vaguely English names did you see? I have ABSOLUTELY no sypathy for the 'Britons' that were attacked. Israel is bordered by hostile nations, thei one and only sanctuary is the sea. Why allow aid to be given to your enemies? IMHO they should have killed all the people and sunk their boats.

Nonsence whole of middle east are against Israel,maybe the government but definately not the people. Iran has 25,000 jews that live in peace aside with other iranians. No one is against them because of their religion but because of what their government is doing.

I'm sorry but may be you have missed the video released on how those so called 'peace activists' were attacking israeli soldiers with knives & rods. The whole middle east is against israel not because they're jews, but because israel is the only truly democratic nation operating in the middle east where tyrants are running their fascist regimes. Saudi grants no religious rights to non-muslims; people are stoned & hanged in public in Iran for charges like adultery, homosexuality. My sexual orientation is none of Ahmedinejaad's business nor I'd like to breath without freedom to speak against oppressive Aylatollah khomeini's rules. Did you ever read 'taheer ul vaseela'? Israel is a modern country with a parliamentary democracy & equal rights for everyone regardless of gender, race, religion which invokes the fear in primitive arab minds. I have no sympathy for such armed activists sponsored by Hizbullah.

Is torture permissible in a democracy like it is in Israel? Is their research into genetic bio-weapons to target Iraqis also democratic? Is nuclear weapons research and stockpiling permissible un-inspected in Israel, but in all other Arab states it cannot be allowed to go un-inspected? The point the member was making is that to machine-gun people as a first resort - people who were simply protesting, whether a couple may be carrying sticks or not - it is not allowable, and is not the action of a democratic state. Neither is the bulldozing of innocent people's homes, etc. We all know Israel never does anything wrong and is just a victim of all the really nasty, unjustifiably-acting surrounding Muslim states - and we must protect Israel at all costs because it's just not fair that they get so badly treated for doing absolutely nothing wrong at all to deserve such shoddy reporting and condemnation! I for one am flying out there right now to sort out this terrible misunderstanding.

Turkish humanitarian organisation is simply no peace activist- Germany, Italy & a few more nations have condemned them of being associated & sponsored by terrorist organisation like hizbullah & muslim brotherhood(check out videos of them waving yellow hizbullah flags); i'm freaked out with the condemnation israel faces with every simply move to defend their tiny homeland from primitives around them. Israel has been troubled right from the beginning, what can be a better example than being attacked at the day of Yom Kippur? Munich olympic killings? okay more recent, explain Gilad Schalit? explain Itamar attack?

If its all because of sympathising for the politics of oil then i wish to live that long to see where saudi ends up when they run out of their liquid gold. Dubai is building a tourism industry, Saudi doesn't even have an alternative. This doesn't even hold an argumentative value.
