Poll: What would you do regarding the EU vote
Home >> World-issues >> Ireland's vote on EU treaty

What's your opinion on this? What would you do?
p.s.: you can read it here:

I voted yes.
1) i thought streamlining the EU beauocracy would be a good thing.
2) there was to be increased police co-operation between all the EU members.
3) because of the declaration of workers rights.
4) the increases in competence for the EU in international affairs and trades would have paid off for us all.
5) the presidency would have been extended to 2 and a half years instead of 6 months (Putin has dealt with something like 19 EU presidents in his time who spent their first 2 months catching up with what the last presidency did, 2 months doing the work, and 2 months preparing the guys who were going to admin the next presidency)
6) I just bloody knew that if a No vote went through, Brussels would ignore it and press ahead anyway which is what they are doing right now.
7) from my albeit limited understanding of global economics and trends, When India and China take over as the worlds powerhouses the only way the EU can effectively compete with them is as a federal style entity.
they poured 50 billion into Ireland over the years, they wouldn't invest so much if all they wanted was to frogmarch us to the frontlines.
9) out of a 166 dail members, 160 were in favour of the treaty, with the exception of Sinn Fein every major political party was in favour of it.
10) i didn't want to vote on it again a second time, like what happened with Nice.

I've been scouting around on a lot of british political sites, there seem to be a lot of people out there annoyed that ye didn't get the Referendum on this that Blair promised.
Will people push Brown for a referendum because of the Irish 'No'?

whilst I love the europeans of all cultures, I'd rather we retained autonomy
The small European countries that are not part of the EU (non Eastern block)
are absolutely thriving
To all those Labour-philes out there - when is our referendum we were promised??
Its a sad feckin day when we have to rely on Sinn Fein to help us get democracy in our own nation
