I will declare first of all I have never voted Labour in my life.

Jacqui Smith the home secretary does not strike me with confidence.

She would appear to be out of her depth.

If you watch or listen to her on TV or radio, she will come out with the party line, but when pressed on the actualities she cannot debate, but goes back to the party line.

yesterday in desperation she announced 300 extra police for the fight against terrorism. But when pressed on detail, it is not 300 police officers, it is going to be police, and support staff. It is also the lead up to the elections in 2 weeks and she has breached election rules by making this statement ahead of the date.

The Tories have said,"It is clear that Labour ministers have intentionally broken Cabinet Office rules in an attempt to create a political smokescreen.

The Home Office took the view that it was appropriate that an announcement on an issue of national importance should be made
Home Office spokeswoman

"They are trying to hide the fact that police authorities across the country are now axing the number of police officers, whilst hiking the police levy on council tax bills."

Not only is she incompetent but the labour party in the United Kingdom are heading for a great fall.

I'm afraid it's a sign of the times these days. More than ever it is about marketing the story or the action rather than actually just getting on with it. In wartime it's called propaganda, now it's called spin.

And they wonder why the good people of the UK are so disengaged from politics Rolling Eyes

For future reference folks.
You live in a 'representative democracy', that is you vote for a representative and they go and play with democracy.

They are salesmen or saleswomen, all that matters is you vote for them, that they make that sale and get elected, once their 'in' there is no money back, no refund, no part exchange and you don't get to vote until their leader they choose says so or five years run out.

You vote idiots in, you get idiots running the country,
you vote geniuses in you get geniuses running the country.

Thing is the idiots have realised that as long as your are persuaded they are geniuses when you vote it does'nt matter a fig how clever of not they really are once their elected, because that was your only choice in the matter.
