After witnessing another grave misjustice involving Man Utd & Refs (Howard Webb in particular who has previous) I wonder what system could be set up to compensate us fans when these corrupt bent sods upset our happiness - Personally I wouldnt pay the refs - If my work decided to prioritise one train companys service work over another we wouldnt be doing our job right and therefore wouldnt recieve any payment - if refs cant be partial to both teams then they also shouldnt recieve any form of payment.

Decisions like these can lead to people in the game losing their jobs - I know refs can make mistakes but funny how 9/10 they tend to favour the bigger sides Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad

Preaching to the converted here mate.

Rob Styles screwed us over against United at The Hawthorns, sending off Paul Robinson for having the gaul to challenge a United player in a 50-50.

After seeing countless decisions go against us in favour of supposedly bigger clubs, every Baggies season ticket holder has long since held the opinion that the Premiership is bent as a nine bob note.

It wasn't a penalty. Felt sorry for Spurs after they outclassed United in the first half.

I think most referees are just after fame - it's the same reason they choose to send off players because of the players reputation rather than judged solely on the one incident in the game.

If you add up the mistakes by referees that have cost Hull this season - they would be in 13th and very safe from relegation. Hell. West brom would probably be safe, too.

Sometimes you get penalties you shouldn't get, and sometimes you don't get penalties you should get.

United should have had a penalty in the FA cup game against Everton, yet they didn't. Went on to lose that game.

Today, United got a penalty that they shouldn't have had and went on to win the game. Was it a turning point in the game? thinking about it, probably, as it gave United confidence, while at the same time shattering spurs confidence.

I think refs have too much influence over the game.

When will they bring in video replays? They really should.

fair comment - nto taking anything away fi utd 2nd half performance but that was a major turning point - the spurs players completely lost their discipline and shape afterwards

I agree. I think we would have only got a point if the penalty hadn't been given, to be honest.

Lennon played a blinder in the first half. Rooney played a blinder in the second half and was involved with all of the goals apart from the penalty!

Not this season. Last time we were relegated that may be true, but this time we've just been shite.

Even Rob Styles attention-grabbing match-fixing didn't have an impact on who would have actually won, just the scoreline.

btw, I notice Styles was the ref who forced Villa to change their kits against West Ham, despite neither club, the Premier League, the FA, or even referees assesor Dermot Gallagher having the slightest problem with the kits.

Twat.

Well if you don't score enough goals, and can't stop conceding them, then you're shite Laughing

We aren't that bad in terms of the football we play, theres just (usually) no end product.

While i think a referees job has got alot harder since the premiership began (multiple camera angles and analysis straight after the game has finished) there are moments where you have just got to ask WTF???

They are only human and it is unfair to expect them to not make mistakes but the unfortunate thing is that their decisions can change a match in one split second decision!

I should probably say now that i support manchester united, alot of people will probably think that i do not deserve to discuss this topic as we supposedly get an unfair amount of decisions our way! and i will whole heartedly agree that we have been gifted decisions which shouldnt have gone our way (some have been mentioned already in this thread so i will not list them again) but unfortunately when a club is near the bottom of the league these decisions can have big blows in their fight to avoid relegation and this amplifies the mistake.

I rambled on a bit here so sorry for that, so all i can say is i feel referees could be punished for repeated bad decisions and maybe have ex-pros give advice to refs who have never played the game at a high level so they can use a bit of common sense!
