I was always a Rugby League guy, was pretty good at Football too, but I never followed with that, because I'm a rugby man at heart.

C'mon you saints.

I played hockey all the way through school and uni, just missed my trails for Lancashire, so I guess I was pretty good at that.

I seem to be a natural at snowboarding so maybe the next stop is the winter x-games for me Laughing

I'm an ex-boxer... No, that's not right, Xboxer, I'm an Xboxer.

Seriously, when I was at school I was extremely sporty. I was a hurdler, Goalkeeper, hooker in Rugby League, forward in basketball and I used to do a little motorcross too.

I still like playing a bit for fun, kick arounds in the park, shooting a few hoops, tennis, cycling etc. But I can't compete at anything anymore as I've had three serious injuries to my right knee.

I excel at the random sport called badminton. I used to be good at basketball but I think was down to having a hoop in my first house darn I still miss it though. I'm average at football if I'm lucky but love it. Oh and just taken up running enjoyed doing the Reading Half marathon doing it again this year but ohh boy is hard to train in cold and wet weather!

Chess is not a sport. It may take a lot of mental stamina, but it's not a sport. It's not a sport the same way that snooker, pool and darts aren't sports. Whilst i agree that all are more than games, i believe a new definition is needed for them.

Sport: An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively

a) physical exertion: i) brain usage requires energy and using more uses more -> greater blood flow to brain -> greater heart rate -> physical exertion. ii) moving those pieces is damn hard :O especially on 3d board where you need faily good manual dexterity on some squares...
b) skill: hell yes
c) rules: yup, even tri-d has its own rule book (and variants)
d) competative: heres where tri-d may not count but there are many chess competitions...

conclusion: chess is a sport until its redefined Razz
