Really should have had a punt on Huntelaar. 10 mill max would have been enough-meaning there was still enough left over to clear the debt with. Proven goalscorer, would have ended up being a total bargain. Looks like Distin is on his way to us then. Not my choice as THE replacement for Laursen, but a decent hand to have around. |
Yep, we are
Huntelaar? Nahhh. Lukas Podolski!
And nobody would be able to Laursen...although you are welcome to let Rio try

Rio's always been the lucky one in every partnership, right back to his Hammers' days. The fact he still seems to put 'being cultured' over basic defending..
Podolski eh?If he hadn't gone back to Cologne, might have been in with a shout. Big fan of his, surprised no one else took a punt.
Looks like the link with David Villa's back on, but I don't see that happening..

Actually, I'd prefer to keep him another year at least.
While he always has the appearence of Bambi on ice, and he has never been an automatic choice, he has scored a fair few belters for us, and he would be good for the championship. Maybe a year as understudy to Miller, Moore and Cox, and then flog him.

He scored a cracking volley on his Hawthorns debut, outside the area looping over the keeper.
At Leicester, in a must win game at the time, he came on as sub, controlled the ball on the edge of the area just to the left, and curled the ball over and round the keeper.
And a week or two later, in a five goal win, he scored the fifth in a similar fashion.
I think he had two or three of the ten contenders for Albion goal of the season that year.

Rio makes me nervous when he goes near the ball.
Podolski is good..
I think if Villa was going to come to the premier league...it'd be liverpool

"Huntelaar? Nahhh. Lukas Podolski!"
I dont get why Huntelaar is now kinda underated/undervalued (ok he's at Real but his big money move was long in the waiting, and rather stop-gap when it came) dispite being heavily lauded when he burst onto the scene.
His scoring record was and still is excellent and his techinque is amazing. At United he'll "fill his boots"

Oh, I'm not saying Huntelaar isn't good! Not at all.

Aye, but I think it's strange his price is so 'reasonable' with all the hyper-inflation about.
Seems to be in the same boat Owen was at in Madrid - dunno why cause he's a far better footballer - Still the directness and speed of Benzema, Ronaldo & Kaka (goal at Old Trafford) should be extreme. Gawd, I hate Real and Florentino Perez Hilton
Anyway I'm a Saints fan, and I'm now looking forward to the REAL ales and pies of the market, cathedral, and mill towns in the Olde III Divison, after all the hooha.

I guess Real just want to offload him. *shrugs*
I also hate Real..they have kept me amused by saying they won't pay too much for Villa or Alonso..errrmmm...hello, just spent HOW MUCH on ronaldo?!!! Nobody is worth that amount. Nobody.
Don't worry - least they'll get wins against Norwich, leeds and charlton
Back to the transfer stuff..
Forest have been busy!
22.07.2009, 23:00 quote
Ah yes.
I nearly cried when I switched the tv on earlier and heard it...
I never thought County would have to stoop so low...how embarassing for them!
