Well it's now first of July and time for the main transfer opportunities of the year.

The incredible 80 million one has been officially completed now.

What are the hopes and fears and expectations for the coming months?

I'm scared United WILL sign Benzema. He's good but....I don't see him AT united. In this case....I'm hoping i'm wrong!

Valencia is a good signing though.

I think we need to sign another central defender

And a 25 goals plus scorer.

The beeb were suggesting that Benzema could also be on his way to Real, rumours persist about Vidic too. (How much are they going to spend this year, ouch!)

Valencia seems solid, but not outstanding thus far.

Who do you see as a potential 25 goals a season striker?

For us, I mainly want us to not let anyone crucial go, a strong back up striker would be nice, as would an extra option out wide.

I think we need strengthening in all departments, but with Jeremy Wanker Peace's 20 player limit, I can't see it happening.

I'd like to see us sign that Simon Cox from Swindon. He might be a good replacement for Bednar when he gets sacked.

Well, Benzema has gone to Madrid, but they are NOT having Vidic...don't think he'll leave!!...I will personally hunt down the real madrid twat and hurt him!

I'll get back to you on the striker thing..lol.

Kris Boyd? Nah, can't see him at united, but he's the only one I can think of other than Torres....!!

Well, I'm glad Ronaldo went, he was good but not a premiership player. Too european.
I hope Arsenal can hang on to their stars, get rid of 'Boo' Eboue, Please.
I hope we can get a health striker, cos van persie is a bit of a poser. And stay health, Fabregas. I still don't think we can win the championship thou, maybe FA cup or even the Big Champions League, thou thats tough.
We could do with Alonso, or at least a skilled head in midfield or central defence. We could do with some good central defender with no frills but a great head, where is Campbell??

Glad he wasn't a premiership player then, else they'd have been even more ahead these past couple of seasons. Confused

Not amused by the talk of the little Judas going to Utd. Although would kind of indicate that they might be bargain basement shopping at this point.

Come onnnn, you have to admit it'd be an absolute fairy tale if he whipped 15+ goals out of he bag this season.

It's not unlikely either.

True, I saw Owen score 2 for England little over 16 months ago against Russia at Wembley - if there's quality about (needs it as the pace has gone) he'll score. Newcastle are truly awful, yet his goals per game record is excellent, he was actually a sucess at Madrid contray to popular belief. Still there's aloofness & greed about the guy - which along with his less than dazzling techincal abilty - that kinda makes him easy to dislike, when the goals aren't flowing
