Im wondering, it would probably only be £5 so a first prize for running I might have to keep it to show my nephew and nieces when they are older.

I can run fast if I have someone to chase and try to catch but if its just me and the road then I go at a nicer pace. I guess then to get a prize Ill have to chase someone all the way

What time we talking for the pb then? Was it your half mara?

I think Ill book up for the castle one, could be fun.

I wasnt going to say times because its fast - 1:24:07 for the half (I always manage to get just a few seconds the wrong side of a minute, silly but 59:59 sounds better that 60:01).

What about you?

Good god 1:24 !! Surprised
I'm declining your challenge ! I will let you know my time after sunday Very Happy

Let me know if you decide to do the castle one and I'll look out for ya Very Happy

Well I'm taking it easy compared to other weeks but not totally stagnating. I did a fast, hilly 3 miles yesterday and tomorrow I will do circuit training. Friday probably another short run then rest on Saturday and drink loads of fluids Smile

Sorry to hear about your shoulder, hope it's nothing serious.

The next run I've booked after my half is this http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=35141
It's a 10k around the grounds of a castle and apparently it's a really nice run. It's about 15 miles from Cardiff I think.

If you like forest trails then there's this on the same date http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=34734
It would be about an hour from Cardiff. I haven't entered that one, it was a toss up between that and the one I'm doing this weekend.

I'm also down for this one which is right in Cardiff city centre and around the bay

Just printed the entry form for the castle run so when I get organised theis week Ill think about entering it.

Sunday was great, really enjoyed it. I had wanted sub 2 and did 2:01 so was pleased with that as the wind was a biatch !! It was my first half and it was really well organised and I'd do it again.
I feel sure I will knock a good few minutes off in my next half. Very Happy

Well done missme! I think being 2:01 must be really getting at you - where could you hve gone to get a little minute quicker... still next time you will be under 2 hours.

Ive got the Silerstone half on Sunday so that will be good - might run with a friend who wants to crack 2 hours as well, his best is 2:10 so got a little way to go but Ill see how it goes.

Ive got a confession to make to you - I didnt get the form away in time for the Cardif castle run you said about so Sad wont be going down to that one, Ill look for another in your kneck of the woods though I think

Just a thought there, how about we all meet u pfor the Cardiff half marathon later in the year? Few beers, and meal the night before, run in the morning, then another few beers after?

You can register on the day if you want but anyway yeh be cool to meet up for the Cardiff half. I've met up with a few people off RW at races so no doubt a few of them will be up for it too.

Good luck for Sunday and hope your mate gets a pb !

Well that's what it says on RW. There's a number you can ring if you want to double check.

Todays race was Sunny and windy weather, then a bit of cold and hail, then a bit of sun, then a lot of hail and wind all the way round... but it was a race and good of course!

I ran the first mile or so with a friend who is slower than me - 2 hours for the half marathon - and I found that funny because I had some spare energy to mess around a bit, and we were on the Silverstone race circuit so we had a few 'crashes' and spins and stuff - childish I know. I spotted him as he was finishing and ran 1/2 miles with him again just to say we started and finished sort of together.

I saw a funny T shirt - on the back it said 'Hows My Running' Like on the trucks - funny but Ive forgotten the number else I might have rung it!

All in all a good run, and then followed by a 300 mile trip to mums house (mothers day), and dinner, then 130 miles home again. Im a bit tired now.

Thanks for asking!!

Im going to edit this now
Ive just tried taking my nip plasters off - ripping all chest ahir with it, so Ill make a note to myself - next time to do it when I am cold and chest is a but numb. Today was good up till now.

My running partner did the same as you at my race last weekend. He finished before me and waited for me and came back and ran the last half mile with me too Very Happy

Im glad you said about the returning and not the plasters. They have made me think that shaving before a race might be a good idea. Not sure waxing is a good idea after the agony of 1/2 square inch of plaster sticking.
