Thanks Scot are you a runner too?

Not really, more of a gym bunny, although that does include a lot of miles on the treadmill, I guess.

But this wasn't about me, it was about a single Mom keeping herself in half-marathon shape.

But oh, ew!!! Now Cheeky's comment about Snickers - after a half Marathon.

Ew! Ew! Ew!

(Nice double pun, though). Wink

The dreaded treadmill, I find it so boring and only use it for speedwork or if I can't get outside for whatever reason.

Thanks sp. I've signed up for my next race now.
Its one of the valentine love runs which are held in newcastle, london & cardiff in Feb every year. It should be a big turnout and I've done a 5k on the same route before so I know its nice and flat & I'm hoping to knock another few minutes off my time Smile

So are you going to London, Cardif or Newcastle?

I think they are a bit far to travel for me for 'just' 5km - I think if Im travelling for a weekend I would want to go on as longer run. I havent even looked yet at next year really, I should do that over christmas I think, when Im full of turkey and cant move is perhaps the best time to think I need a challenge to do.

Matter of taste, I guess. I've never been a fan of long-distance running (was always a sprinter/long-jumper, explosive rather than endurance - oo-er, Matron!), but include a good chunk of miles in my overall workout, combined with other cardio excercises. Just about keeping a good body shape for me, rather than pleasure from actual running.

But again, this is not about me.

Hope you shave

. . . some more seconds off your times in yor upcoming races.

Fingers crossed ! I'm not that fast as you can see from my times but I only started running in March so I know there's still room for improvement.

Poppet, I could introduce you a quite a few single mothers who couldn't *WALK* that distance!

You never claimed you were an Olympic runner, so how fast you are is related only to how fast *YOU* are, no-one else.

I say effort, and I challenge anyone else to say otherwise.
