I havent got any planned at the moment, I did one each month this year as a new years resolution (the only one Ive ever kept), but I havent looked at what my next one is going to be - Ill see one that looks fun I think.

Have you got any other planned after the 10k?

Where is the half marathon? I was thinking about doing the Liverpool one or I saw in around Silverstone race circuit about march time

Well there are 2 in March but I haven't decided which to do yet. One is in Llanelli (South Wales ) and the other is the Forest of Dean which I think is in Gloucester. I've read about the Silverstone one you mentioned, I think its a lot more 'undulating' than it appears !

Probably is, but then you can say you have raced round a formula 1 circuit!

Looks like it - I think Im going to give the races a miss till feb when the weather nicer. Im not going soft - honest - its disheartening when the wind stops you in your tracks though.

I dont know where Ill go in feb, any ideas anyone?

I must admit I much prefer running in the good weather too.
Have you looked at the events section of runners world for races in Feb?
If you are prepared to travel then there is a huge selection.

Well Missme7, how was Sunday?

My broadband died at the weekend so I havent been on to ask before then, hope it went well (dial up at the moment at mum and dads, yawn, its sooo slow)

I had a thought on the drive up here though, next year I might look at a race nearest the 4 corners of mainland Britain - NE and NW Scotland, Dover somewhere and somewhere in the SW, a bit of travel as well there and see thie country a bit

Oh the dreaded dial up, my mum has it too Sad

Sounds like a good idea regarding your plans for next year. Plenty of travelling mind but that will add to the fun Smile

My race was really tough due to the severe winds and driving rain. It was my first multi-terrain also, so it was a bit of a shock to the system !
I got a bloodied knee before I even started as a girl accidently kicked me during the warm up when we were all hemmed in waiting to go.
Anyway it was hilly & muddy and I felt I was doing quite badly but somehow I managed to knock 1:31 off my last 10k ( a flat road race) and came in at 56:59 so I was happy enough with that.

Well done, MM.

I just learned two new things about you, both earning respect.

Effort.

dunno if this really fits here but we have a "walking race" every year here called the "Parish Walk"..... goes round each church parish on the island and is about 90 miles.

Winner of this year did it in just under 15 hours.

There's 2 stop points.. one at 40-ish miles and the other at just under the 90.

Anyway, might be worth a look if you're into that sort of thing...... I do it every year
