mofox - spot on that man. Well said.

Blueeyes - yes, Rugby came from football, but only because football is so mind numbingly dull that William Webb Ellis decided to make it a little more entertaining for all involved!

Bang on. William Webb Ellis was playing football. He got bored of the fannies falling over to get penalties, so he picked the ball up ran over a few pansies who were shouting at the ref, side stepped the keeper and dived over the line for the points.

That's another thing. Why do footballers think that when a ref makes a call it is open to "discussion". surely the ref is in charge and what he says counts. Has a ref ever overturned a call because Frank bloody Lampard shouted at him and threatened to go home crying? No!

Oh and anyone who says Rugby is shit is ignorant and not smart enough to understand the rules...

Woooooooooooooo!!

And Jeggae - i have no interest in looking at the players in any sport (well maybe a little tiny bit with Rugby)...i play Union myself and come from a family of avid Rugby Union followers. I understand the rules of the game, tactics and how to watch a game properly. I am not one of these stupid women in a pub who is watching *insert ANY sport here* because all the men are, and she thinks her tits look big in the tight *insert apprproate sport here* top she borrowed off her boyfriend, shouting things like "Pass it!!" and or "Get him"

As a female rugby player/enthusiast, i firmly believe that if you have nothing constructive or relevant to say about the game in front of you, keep your trap shut! That goes for men too!!

I like both sports, although not really into Rugby League. But because I am a rugby neutral I have to say football would be my first choice as I actively support two teams in the English leagues. Those teams being my home team Plymouth Argyle and Liverpool because I have followed them since I was very young.

Throw a football onto the floor in Angola and they will kick it. Throw a rugby ball onto the floor in Angola and they will try to boil it!

Football. That is all.

Rugby league. Hands down.

I don't like tennis, so rugby unions out, I prefer seeing tries scored rather than kicks.

I like football, especially when Liverpool beat Man Utd 2-1, and Man City get delusions of a great season, then get beaten 3-1 by Chelsea.

But I prefer watching St Helens beat Warrington 17-16 with 15 seconds of the game left.

In football its very rare for a team to go like 3-0 up, only to lose 4-3, but in rugby ive seen a team being 24-0 up, and losing 36-28.
