Is Chelsea still richer then Spurs??

When Roman first took over, young Chelsea fans came on the spurs forums claiming 'we' are now bigger then spurs...we said it'll all end in tears...older Chelsea fans just said, they will enjoy it while it lasts.

Chelsea being richer then spurs is only dependent on Abramovich's money, nothing Chelsea have. When he took over he said he wanted to make Chelsea a going concern, which I think hasn't happened.

Has he got other fish to fry like the world cup? Has he had enough of pumping in money?

Seems the love affair might be ending, will he cut his losses and leave?..could it be the end of Chelsea??

I have wondered, as apparently he has been going to less games and spending more time at home in Russia.

I would say that if he does leave, Chelsea will have to seriously lower their aim. They won't be able to pay the wages unless somebody with an equal fortune replaces him, and they would probably end up lower than before he bought the club.

I doubt they would go to the wall...the FA and Premier League bent over backwards to help Portsmouth, and they are nowhere near Chelsea's level.

Where do Spurs get their money from??? They have the same gates as West Ham after all.

Chelsea are now a big and glamourous name in European football - crazy when you look back ten years - or twenty: playing a play off to stay the divison...or when they had 16k gates, concrete seats and cars parked besides the pitch? A sheik will no doubt come in by them, if Abramovich left.

There's the story that, when Abramovich was going it buy a club it was Spurs, but on the way through London, told his driver to stop - what's this area? Does it have a club? I was around the Chelsea area of London at Christmas...aspirational, very, very desirable, especially for a foreigner. And footie, or that level of it, is Monopoly

Cant stand these guys...or Chelsea, and I would LOVE IT for them to be even shiter still. Laughing

Theres no doubt Roman's lost at least some interest, you used to see him at alot of games, I cant remember the last time I saw him at a Chelsea game tbh.
The money has seem to have dried up recently no real big money signings and the players they let go in the summer that havent been replaced such as Carvalho, Ballack, Deco, you only have to look at there bench and see the lack of strength in depth, take Spurs as an example, Spurs have a stronger bench than Chelsea right now.
In saying that apparntly they are after david luiz from benfica for 20m+ amongst other names so maybe the money has dried up only time will tell, but if Roman was to suddnely say enough is enough one day it would leave Chelsea preety screwed, but whats you get for taking the risk with owners these days.

Spurs have a much bigger fan base then West Ham, and turn over. Not sure where Spurs get their money from, but we always have been a spending club..and dont owe anyone anything Smile

Spurs are hopefully a bit safer having shareholders, rather then one big owner. I think everything has to be more transparent. Very Happy

As a chelsea fan of over 20 years i have to say that the club, and most notably stamford bridge, feels a bit soulless these days. However i will enjoy the success whilst it happens.
