Paul McGrath was talking on the radio today, Man U's best player in the 80's IMO, about his new book. He was one of the best players in the World. I might acquire a copy.

Paul McGrath played for Man U and Villa, maybe had his better years at Villa but was top class at Man U. But the resaon I want to read it is to see why he didnt come to Spurs when Vennables wanted him...we could have had McGrath and Gazza in the midfield.
Believe it or not, there was a time when Spurs were maybe a higher profile club then Man U.
In 1988 I went to the League V the rest of the World at Wembley for the centenary of the league, most of the best players in the World were there including Maradona [spit]. Vennables [manager of Barcelona at the time] managed the rest of the world team and Bobby Robson [England Manager] managed the League team. The best player on the pitch was Paul McGrath

If I remember right, Lpool didn't do too well in the CL last season(case of pot and kettle there...seeing how united went out in the freakin' group stages.)
Ok, so Lpool can win the CL, but nothing else. And they won't get anything this season..
