Freakin' brilliant score!!
Scholesy scoring on his 500th appearance for United.
Gerrard had a rather bad game by his standards.

Yep..it was a good result for United, although Liverpool has had a poorish start to the season. But United are still top
SPURS 1 = 0 WHAM Mido..Spurs are still missing loads of easy chances

It was pretty good
And well done for your spurs boys.
Shame about the scum, isn't it?

I hope there's no problems over Defoe's 'little nibble'..totally out of character for him, but I've never seen him so angry
Lets hope the scum have a couple losses..they way they are playing at the moment, they will be challenging for the title

I think they'll try and make an example of him. That guy really over-reacted though.
A couple of losses? More than that! I want revenge for the scum beating us
They won't be challengers for the title. I'm not worried about them at all, to be honest. Sure, they can play, and they can get results, but United and(ugh) Chelsea would have to lose a few more games.
It's stupid that people are ruling out Liverpool...title race is far from over. It's like 8/9/10 games into the season, nobody can tell! I wouldn't even rule freakin' Bolton out yet.
Oh, the good half of merseyside!
Of course i'll be wanting them to win.
23.10.2006, 12:43 quote
Gotta disagree, Laura.
Arsenal play by far the most skilful football in the Prem, but they do lack ruthlessness, which could be their downfall.
And as for them needing you to drop points - not true. If Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal all get the same results from here on in, Arsenal just need to win their games against you and Chelsea and they have the title.
Presuming they win their game in hand (not a big if, considering they've won their last 5 in a row), then they're only 2 points behind you.
I like the look of Man U and Arsenal this year.
23.10.2006, 13:13 quote
I'm not denying that they have skill. They are(I really hate saying this) nice to watch because of the skilful players. You have to be hungry for goals, and you have to have the passion. I'm not seeing the hunger. They have scored 15 goals this season - Most of them have been due to skill, or pretty good strikes. They don't 'steal' goals, they don't have 'lucky' goals. That could be a good thing, but still.
They are five points behind United and Chelsea. May not seem like many at this stage, but that could be crutial later on. I think goal difference may play a major part in this season and the race for the title.
If Arsenal beat us(again), then we would have dropped points. If Arsenal beat Chelsea, then Chelsea would have dropped points.
See what I mean?
23.10.2006, 15:11 quote
OK, I see what you mean, but that's not what I'd consider dropping points, really.
Also, five points behind is true, but misleading, because you've played one more game than them.
If they win their game in hand (and they will) and you lose at their gaff (could go either way), then they are ahead of you, all other results notwithstanding. Same goes for Chelsea.
It's tight, and I reckon Chelsea look comparatively ordinary this season.
I agree with you, though - Arsenal don't get lucky or ugly goals, and I see that as a weakness.
23.10.2006, 15:49 quote
There are a few teams both chelsea and United have to look out for.
Bolton, Middlesborough, man city, and blackburn.
Bolton are doing very well this season.
M'boro, city and Bburn are rubbish against the..not so great teams, and then brilliant against the likes of Chelsea. Like M'boro beat chelsea already this season(oh how I loved that)
Those are the games that both teams will possibly lose points against. They are weird teams!
Chelsea look ordinary because they aren't running away with the league. And everybody is getting bored of them already.
Not getting 'ugly' goals is a bad weakness to have. Scholesy's goal against L'pool? Completely ugly. In the nicest possible way, of course. United can score ugly goals, as can chelsea. And L'pool.
Arsenal? Nope.

Defoe really lost his temper, which is out of character for him, But Mascherano did overreact as you said. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him a slap on the wrist to discourage others from thinking they can start biting.
I think the goons will be there challenging at the end of the season unfortunately, just hope they start losing. By the time we play them, we will be playing better and we WILL beat them
I think Liverpool rely to much on Gerrard, they ain't the same team if he doesn't play well. He was the difference between us and them when we played them

Experience tells me you cant rely on winning games in hand, points on the board are more important, and United have the points. After all they may draw it, and it all depends when they play the game.
Needless to say I hope they lose it

Defoe is normally a good, cool character. Either he was really peed off because of that tackle the guy made on him, or he said something to him.
Martin Jol said that it's part of the game...uh...what is he on?
Arsenal haven't got the 'ugliness' to challenge for it.
L'pool..yep, you're right. Luckily for United Gerrard wasn't on top form

Defoe was really peed off about the challenge, also peed off that he cant seem to hit the back of the net, like all Spurs strikers at the moment...someone will get a right tonking off us one day in the premiership, hopefully asap
I don't take to much heed of what mangers say just after the matches, they are obliged to say something and they have a mike pushed in their faces, and are asked questions about the match before they have time to think about it. Except Wenger of course..he's always a CCCCCCC.......

Hopefully it will be Arsenal that get thrashed by you. Or Chelsea.
Arsene Wenger normally says 'I did not see it'...idiot. lol.
