If you do drugs and get caught its no big deal. We will just slap you on the wrist for a little bit and then bump you up the ladder when you get "better" after your illness.

I bet if it was a footballer you might, just might, have something to say.

The guy got caught, got punished, got the automatic qualifying place, got alot of abuse directed at him for something that is going on wholesale in every athletic track all over the world. The sport is rife with it.

For the powers that be to take the high moral ground on this one is disgusting when they know exactly how bad the sport is crippled with it and their stance is not doing them any justice at all.

The fact of the matter is, you cannot compete and win at the highest level unless you have a very good chemist who can hide what you are doing. The honest Joe out there hasn't a chance.

Does their stance on this highlight how much they are brushing the issue under the carpet? It would make you wonder. Chambers is a scapegoat here, and he has qualified through the system which is administrated by them, if they dont want him there then they should just change the rules.

Such is the state of affairs in cycling as well. The stench of hypocrisy is nauseating. On one hand they have to commit to hosting events and on the other nobody will watch if the big names don't show up and compete with all the others so they turn the eye away.

GB's David MIllar got a 2 year suspension for getting caught when half if not all the teams where using EPO and other drugs. I still stand by my firm belief that if you get caught its a lifetime ban and nothing short of it. But it has to be a conclusive positive with many fall backs to make sure that this does not go the wrong way.

woops... this was about somebody else ....sorry...me bad and i am the one who posted it...

I think cycling might be the worst hit one alright. Stephen Roche from Ireland was under suspicion and retired or something like that to evade getting caught (i could have that wrong) but the cloud still hangs over his head.

The thing is it was going on for years before there was proper testing and it completely got out of hand, leaving the situation its in today.
