Hi all ... a single dad too, with two magic wee boys. Don't know why I have not found this earlier. As every single dad will tell you, there is a huge lack in suport and facilities for people like me.

It appears that it is more acceptable for mothers to be single ... so why not being a single dad.

No doubt we have the same issues : finance, support, dating etc, so I wonder if any other dad is feeling the same way?

Neil

I was on a site and I couldn't get over the amount of dads who had their children living with them, when all you hear in the media, is that men hardly ever get custody of their children.
After a while I realised that because they were single dads, it was harder for them to get out and have a social life, and often felt lonely and isolated.
I think support for single dads is lacking, although on speaking to men often they didn't like to accept support even when it's offered and didn't like it to be known that they sometimes couldn't afford to pay babysitters to get a night out.

SO PROUD OF ALL THE SINGLE DADS!!! dont know any myself and never come across one . . . . Best of luck. I have been a single Mum for 16 yrs. Hubby abandoned us when kids were 2mnth 2yrs 4yrs all boys . . . My kids are a success story here in our community and i am so proud of them. Kids from single parent homes do not need to be dysfunctuonal!

Lov ya all Very Happy

Single dad here, and I really feel sad about it, I've always dreamt of a close family and one that isn't split.....it takes love to make a child, that love should be treasured and not given up.
