All I can suggest is you get on to the local housing benefit there and talk to them about your circumtances. If you're working less than 16 hours you should definitely be entitled, more than that, and the entitlement will depend on hours and wage earned.

Good luck Smile

hi..you would be entitled to housing and council tax benefit, although they will only pay a certain amount..so if you rented a very large place, dont expect them to pay lots more..

ah somewhere i can actually help. well before i moved to my house i was living in an apartment. and i had to have help with the rent when me and the ex broke up as i gave up working to raise our kids. the rent was 650 euro and the eastern healthboard paid about 430 of that. but that was because i was not working. i don't know where you stand with them because of your job. but there is such a thing as FIS family income supplement.... where they assess how much you are earning as opposed to how much you should be earning to afford your home and bills. if there is a local Citezens advide bureau they can give you some information as to what you are entitled to. or alternatively ring your local community welfare officer. if you don't know where they are your healthboard will give you a contact number or address.

hope that helped
