I have noticed, at least in the Edinburgh postings, that more often than not the lesbians at least make an effort to write some sort of description in their profile. In contrast, ladies looking for men more often then not don't seem to bother.

Perhaps the lesbians need to make it clear that they're not looking for men. I suppose the straight women draw an overwhelming number of responses simply by existing...

Its always been my understanding here that a person's profile is set up as "woman looking for Men", "woman looking for (lesbian) women" etc?
So how can a man ("looking for woman") search on the dating side and get shown women looking for women? Bit pointless that.
Mine is set as "woman looking for men" and I've never yet been shown search results men looking for men.
Personally, I have absolutely no idea who is lesbian/gay unless they say so on these forums because they dont come up on 'search' - mind you, I've not used the search facility for about a year.

What I meant was that we men are particularly dense, especially when it comes to signs reading "back off," so the women who are not interested in men feel the need to make it extra-obvious by noting such in their profile descriptions.

I was not calling for clearer boundaries. I was calling for women to put more information in their profiles so we men can waste more time writing clever responses that will never get replies!

Yeah I understand that, but the issue would not arise surely if the "women looking to meet lesbian women" didnt come up when a bloke does a search?
You would then just not get a response from women looking to meet men....

freemannow is probably right. Men do see pictures of lesbians/bi curious, and quite often you see a sexy picture and you just now she'll be looking for a women

I understand exactly what he's talking about. Its not difficult, and maybe he has a point. But sexy pictures are not the be all and end all. I like seeing natural pictures of women just looking at the camera.

But why are there a lot of sexy looking women bi curious nowadays?

cos they have had so much brain their bored of it

And they double their chances of pulling when they go out.

and to answer the question posed, generally women have a tendency not not to objectify the people they are interested in.

and while not all men do objectify and probably not even most men do, i only need point out the OP as why more often then not women looking for men do not have sexy "pitchers".

after all the number of women who go onto dating websites purely to receive, incoherent, badly spelt and grammatically incorrect messages asking for love of some kind, is probably quite low....
