tsk, if you set your standards high enough then you can probably be quite safe.

alternatively, you could always make sure the cam thing is both ways so you can see and record what he's doing when watching too that way if he betrays you, you can betray him in return. Sorta like a version of the MAD (mutually assured destruction) approach to nuclear weapons.

I didnt know you could record web chats...... that has warned me, i will be a good girl

Yeah, I know, that's why I put my shows in inverted commas Wink

I should hasten to say that a lot of people don't have a clue about recording what goes on, on their screen. However, even a still shot captured by pressing "print screen" on the keyboard and pasting it into a graphics program to save it can be embarrassing enough.

My IM client isn't an official one. I use a version of MSN Messenger called AMSN, which supports the saving of webcam sessions. I've not used it for any evil purposes, though.

There's also various screen recording software you can get that saves the result as a flash-based video. It's mainly used for totally harmless uses, but but of course ... as it can record anything, then it can record a webcam session.

I guess I have a conscience. I don't like my fellow humans being taken advantage of.

come on Dave, I think we're talking about 'between concenting adults' here, nobody's being harmed or taken advantage of. You might not feel comftable with the idea, neither do I but that's not really reason to put it down quite like that.

live and let live I say...

So you approve of betraying a person's trust and potentially humiliating them among a lot of people ? If that's not taking advantage of or harming someone, then I guess I live in a different world to you.

@ strawberrykate. Creepy ? How so, I don't understand. My comment was an exaggerated rendition of my thoughts, I should hasten to add. I wrote it in a way that amused me, in some small way.

Ok Ok chill out Dave, maybe you shouldnt be so intense. I was of course only joking. I think Kate is trying to suggest that it sounds like your trying to go down the cliche route of "Im not like the other boys, Im different" One must remember that this is fraze Mr M Jackson used . Not that Im suggesting you are like him, but he 2 lives in his own world. Enough said eh?

OK, I shall come clean on a few things.

1. I'm not being "intense" or "serious" about all of this. Your post, being the 3rd in a row to be an expected response, made me smile and realise that I'd come across completely wrong.

2. The original comment that started this was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, the "whiter than white" impression was just an OTT way of saying that I thought it's good to be aware of these things. I guess that's a bit too hard to convey to people who've no idea of my character.

3. The response to "scubawallace" was just a game I was playing to see what the response/s would be to a possible interpretation of what he said.

I had thought about making a joke of some sort instead of that original comment that sparked this, andI was going to say much of the above to scubawallace, but decided to do something else instead on both occasions.

As it's all gone so very pete tong, I'm baling out now & coming clean with where I was coming from.

Can we kill the serious talk now Very Happy pleeeassee

Dave i just wanna say I agree with what you said. If I ever ever did a show for someone (not that I would), I would absolutely hate the thought of it being recorded and the possiblity of it being posted elsewhere so I see exactly where you are coming from with your comments. And at the end of the day its the internet so do you really know the person you would be doing your show for???? Confused

Smile Thanks. It's an ego killer when you're trying to be amusing and feel no-one "gets it". It's worse in real life, though, when you're taking the complete piss, and you get a straight reaction like you meant exactly what you said!
