so if you had a girl performing for you, and you have the facility to tape it........would you??

I've never kept any recorded cam sessions before, mainly because I've not actually got around to saving any, innocent or otherwise.

If I was to record and keep something of that sort, it would only be with the permission of the person performing. I'm very funny about privacy and that sort of thing, both mine and other peoples. I kept a video once, that was given to me, but that was only after begging them to let me keep it for my eyes only. If they'd had of refused, then I would have deleted it. No-one else ever saw it apart from me, and it's now long since been got rid of.

Bloody hell, your a geek too! ha ha, how on earth do you know this stuff??

I just read a lot, not just about geek things but lots of things that interest me. My education reflects the same diversity of interests. I don't have a single I.T related qualification, of any description what-so-ever. Well, I did get a G in I.T @ GCSE level, but that was because their idea of IT was learning how to use office applications and apply them to business problems ... which was way out of line with what I thought it would be about.

All of my I.T jobs have also been ones where much of my time was spent reading and practising how to do computer-related things, whilst I was doing the job I was paid to do. That helps too. Give me time to twiddle my thumbs and I'll be finding something to do to keep me busy.

For basic video, download a copy of amsn for windows from here:

http://www.amsn-project.net/

Once installed, have a browse around the preferences and you should see the options for saving webcam sessions. I haven't yet tried it, but I presume it works.

It's a neat MSN clone for general usage purposes, too. It's an open source program, and a widely used one at that, so it's quite trustworthy. None of that spyware rubbish.

All you need now is someone with a webcam willing to let you record them to see how well it works.

I am not going to be held responsible for anyone you embarrass or extort money from as a result of having this knowledge!

Why do all the work yourself, start a community site dedicated to taking the piss out of all the nobs on the intrawebs. The only problems I forsee are potential legal ones, but they might not have covered this ground yet. Historically, the law is behind technology, not up to date with the uses people might make of it.

Not if they're all out of booze. It might violent the human rights act, due to it being viewed as a kind of cruel and inhumane form of torture.

Yeah, I know, that's why I put my shows in inverted commas Wink

I should hasten to say that a lot of people don't have a clue about recording what goes on, on their screen. However, even a still shot captured by pressing "print screen" on the keyboard and pasting it into a graphics program to save it can be embarrassing enough.

My IM client isn't an official one. I use a version of MSN Messenger called AMSN, which supports the saving of webcam sessions. I've not used it for any evil purposes, though.

There's also various screen recording software you can get that saves the result as a flash-based video. It's mainly used for totally harmless uses, but but of course ... as it can record anything, then it can record a webcam session.
