One good reason not to be too rude ... some IM clients can record video and/or audio chat sessions. You have been warned. Mine logs them alongside the text chat logs.

i think shows means being dirty..rather than being silly and making people laugh.
I didnt know you could record web chats...... that has warned me, i will be a good girl

Yeah, I know, that's why I put my shows in inverted commas
I should hasten to say that a lot of people don't have a clue about recording what goes on, on their screen. However, even a still shot captured by pressing "print screen" on the keyboard and pasting it into a graphics program to save it can be embarrassing enough.
My IM client isn't an official one. I use a version of MSN Messenger called AMSN, which supports the saving of webcam sessions. I've not used it for any evil purposes, though.
There's also various screen recording software you can get that saves the result as a flash-based video. It's mainly used for totally harmless uses, but but of course ... as it can record anything, then it can record a webcam session.
