If your tattooist knows what they are doing, they will cover the tattoo with cling film when it is finished. Run a mile from anyone who uses tissue/ kitchen towel.
Keep it covered with cling film for 24 hours, shower the 'sludge' off and then use 'bepanthen' nappy rash cream, you won't get any scabs, it will just peel like sunburn.
Because using this method prevents hard scab formation, the tattoo heals faster (3-4 days) and there is much less chance of colour dropping out. The colours stay brighter too.
