What do folks make of this? Does a significant age gap really matter these days? I read once that no less than half the mans age + 7 was a general rule of thumb. But what about say 40/20. Are we becoming more accepting? Are there generational differences that simply can't be overcome? Is age just a number after all?

However, I don't believe age has anything to do with matters of the heart and all societies seem to have differing views and each to their own.
Personally I think 'religion' is the greatest barrier to overcome in society, and to allow two people of different faiths to be a couple.
