My 3 month hiatus was caused by stress at work. Until last Saturday, I hadn't gotten laid in 2007!
I had loads of stress getting my accounts ready for my tax return, and to add to the problem, my business partner and I were in the middle of completely restructuring our businesses.
While we saved a lot of money shuffling everything around, I sure lost a lot of sleep, and I could tell that I wasn't my usual buoyant self.
It's all over now and I'm back to normal, but I think I learned a valuable lesson, i.e. nobody fancies a misery guts 
I think I deserve a holiday...

Yeah, but I find it depends how much effort I put into it- make your own luck so to speak.
My friend refers to a bountiful period as a 'purple patch' which is an expression I kinda can't help liking.

I have only ever had love when I have gone out and paid for it because I have failed to get it for free. The last time I paid for love was in 2001 so that makes it 6 years. I never thought I would never be able to get a relationship.

I personally don't see anything wrong with paying for love if that's all you're after- it means getting love with relative impunity, with no risk of emotional involvement.
What does worry me however is the idea of wanting a girlfriend with the express motive of getting regular love. That verges on psychopathic- women aren't a masturbation tool.

Im sorry to hear that man....
I wouldn't despair though, my godfather got married there a couple of years ago at the ripe old age of 40. A good friend of my dad's is in his 50's and is dating a woman in her 30's.
prior to meeting her, i remember him telling me that his love like was like a dog chasing a car... if by some miracle he actually caught one, he wouldn't know what to do with it.

A lot of it can boil down to your compatability with the person and how comfortable you are with them. Technique can only account for so much, because the heart plays a nice bit in it too.

Why not use the money you are so 'grudgingly' paying to these prostitutes to try and turn your life around so that you would come a bit more of a 'prospect' for women?? Sorry but as Scottie says in another thread...would be a big turn off if you met a women and she wanted to go back to your place so you took her back to the Heath or wherever you sleep. Also to someone who said why not use that money to change your life around. I have still got thousands of pounds in the bank but that money cannot get me a home! Rent for flats in London is extortionate and most landlords will only let to people in work. Councils wont give homeless people homes either unless they can prove they have a local connection.The only option open to me are squatting or staying at a mates flat.
