In nature the lions and tigers spread their seeds throughout their community of females and when children are born the whole community looks after their young.

You do not see divorce or the lioness moving out of the community because her lion is seen shagging another lioness.

REMEMBER: Im not asking if its right or wrong, we all know the answer to that.

I believe monogomous relationships are unreasonable on a male, as it's going against our nature.

Saying that, by involving contraceptives in our sex lives, we're already tweaking the ol' nature about a bit.

I'd settle for I wish society didn't label us unfaithful if we sleep with other women, but it does.

I've already had this discussion on these boards. It's generally agreed that one gender is responsible for this outlook. No prizes for guessing which.

I really wanna agree with Max on this, & the theory is great, but i can't for 1 reason. Trust.
If you found out your girl was cheating on you, you'ld lose it i reckon. Picture it, another dude making her smile, then undressing her, and making her CUM - real real hard, oh & more than the once you manage .

For me if i don't trust a woman, which believe me in my experience is my major hangup, I reckon i'm more likely to cheat on her. So therefor i have tended to not have 'proper' relationships. I have only had 3 proper girlfriends in total with lots of non commital memories in between. In those proper relationships i never strayed, and didn't want to because i'd picture the above scenario & think how it would feel. However that doesn't mean I didn't see some1 & think "I'd love to", that's natural. it's the doing something about it that's the thing. If you truly love & respect your woman you wouldn't, & vice verca.

So as theories go, the lion thing is a good 1, but in reality, you'd be left with several brooding baby mothers and a football team of kids you would never have enough time or money to maintain LOL. And every spring you get a challenge from a new younger fitter lion tryna steal your family! Now that ain't much of a life lol.

I think the lion theory is just a sad excuse for if you're the sort of tosser who likes to cheat on women and treat them badly, and thinks they're a piece of property.

If you want to just sleep with lots of women, why would you want to be in a relationship in the first place?

Hopefully this insightful post will have ruined any chances Max has of ever getting a date with any girl who has any self-respect.

dont think its right for anyone to cheat,whether male or female. cant be one rule for one and a different one for another.

so, i believe its free will that gives us the difference between our nature taking control and what we believe is the right things to do.

I agree with some of the more thoughtful replies.

I'd sum it up like this:

It's natural for most men to WANT to have sex with women other than their monogamous partner.

However, actually doing it requires a conscious decision, and that separates the act from the animal desire.

If monogamy were natural, then answer me this:

When a love song says "You're the only one for me", who cares? If monogamy were natural, the response to "You're the only one for me" would be "Yeah, I know. So what?"

For the record, I've also never cheated and never will.
