Are the sexual request threads just a place for peeps to post idle fantasies as and when they pop into your heads, or are they serious requests?
If they are serious, does anybody get lucky?
I am really curious. (I am particularly curious to know if Gav got his cup of tea in london....).

To be honest - having read every other post there being "NO chitchat please, sexual requests only" I think the direct approach is what's expected, I am surprised DH wasnt told to re-post his request in the "love and relationships" thread!
I've said this before, and I'll say it again, to my mind that sexual request thread just looks like a "Find a Free Prostitute Here" thread - sorry, I sincerely do NOT mean anyone who posts or responds in there is a prostitute, what i mean is that it comes across as cold as that.
It just looks like a virtual phonebox without the telephone numbers.
(I know i am totally the wrong person to comment on such matters, but i cannot even begin to imagine myself being desperate enough to respond to some of those posts).
Corny as it seems, if more posts were a la DH style, i reckon more would get lucky perhaps?

Well, in a roundabout way one of the reasons I posted there was I had the same question as you - do people respond to those posts?

So I made a post there. In my usual 'forum style', of course

I'll be blunt - it would be easy to post a one-liner like "fancy a shag, message me" and, if one did get a reply (which I think is remote), it'd probably be from some slapper. I must admit that although the replies I received were from people quite far away, on the whole (the one-liner text speakers excepted) they were articulate, often married, and just looking for a bit of adult fun.

I would say that the Sex Request thread works pretty much like the rest of FB itself - you either get a reply, or you don't, it's pretty difficult to say how these things would work for people in general.


Oddly, I really did use much of that post as the basis of my profile on another dating site later that month, and although I got the odd silly message via my profile, I actually got a better response from it than I did a more serious profile.
