What do you think of it so far? Have to say I prefered The Kite Runner, I thought Splendid Suns was good but a little heavy going at times.

I've got just beyond her mom committing suicide, to where they are marrying her off.
It's a view of a totally different culture, but I haven't found anything - so far - to justify the blurps on the cover: I haven't been greatly moved, or inspired, and I've only noitced one and a half splendid suns. OK, it might be me! Razz
What I've read looks like scene-setting, so maybe it'll improve as I go along. (I hope! Confused )
I haven't read The Kite Runner yet.

I'm sure Khaled Hosseini wouldn't thank me for this but they're basically the same book, one follows male protagonists and the other, female.

Andy Mcnabs Brute force.

I prefer Mcnab over Chris Ryans stuff of late - it seems to me that most of Ryans stuff is just thrown together without too much thought Confused

(i hope he doesn't read that and then hunt me down) Laughing

I'm currently reading 'The Open Veins of Latin America' by Eduardo Galeano.

Fascinating read about what the author sees as 500 years of exploitation of the continent.

Not one for those that dislike politics.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, by Mark Haddon, for what I believe is the third time. I really do recommend it.

Curretly reading The Beach by Alex Garland, just started it last night and I tried fighting falling asleep just so that I could continue. I doubt I'm going to be around much until it's finished.
