On the slippery path to madness,
I feel my mind has gone.
I know my thoughts are always there
and afraid they won't return.
I take a step and then one more
and drop down my knees,
my mind sees things that are not there,
the steps, the path, the trees.

I know it now that I am blind
to reality left behind.
My sanity gone, my mind is mush,
my vision filled with lights.
No matter how I try to resist,
my feet will never falter.
The end looms closer than it did before,
I'm flowing like the water.

I see a sign, but cannot fathom
what draws me on to read.
A tantalising, distant vision,
but it's still a blur to me.
I must go on, it's nearer now,
I cannot see the word,
my mind urges me to keep on going,
moving ever forward.

A door that wasn't there before,
between me and the final goal.
I push it back and soon I see
my sign in all it's glory.
Upon the sign is but one word,
My heart flies like a dove,
Of course you know, it's not hard guess,
the word, of course, is love.

OK, my head is full of mush at the best of times but this one kind of wrote itself tonight. It's not really my feelings but a close estimation of what it feels like to be in love, from my point of view anyway. I hope one day soon, I can have these feelings again. It's one kind of madness I'd welcome.
