05.05.2008, 15:21 quote
There was an old mansion
an old dark mansion
There was a murder
A brutal murder
At the mansion there was a door
a creeking door.
Inside was a hall
A cobwebbed hall.
At the end was a flight of stairs
A flight of broken and battered stairs.
And at the top was a room
within nothing at all apart from the old
dried blood that had dripped
Down onto the cold damp wall.

I have a confession to make - my son wrote it when he was 6 years old at school, instead of doing some maths, and the school called in the psychiatrist - there was hell up, and we didnt even have telly so they couldnt blame video nasties hahaha.....he wrote it around the 10th anniversary of his great-aunt's grisly murder, though he knew nowt about it, he was and still is, a very 'perceptive' child, shall we say!
Glad you like it. I do too, and have it framed by my bed.

mhmm that makes the poem even better, knowing the context in which it was written! brilliant...of course not about the murder though
