Why did god give us tears,
For us to waste throughout the years,
You may be happy or feeling blue,
But tears come rolling down from you,
Why did god give us tears.

It starts with life,a new born child,
Overwhelmed in a brand new world,
And new parents tears alive with joy,
Did you stop to think throughout your years,
Why did god give us tears.

When you are troubled,full of pain,
You've no control,they'll come again,
Complex emotions you cannot explain,
And the end result will be the same,
Why did god give us tears.

We all have tears one day we'll shed,
Morning maybe noon or alone in bed,
If we only knew what each one meant,
Those drops of liquid heaven sent,
Why did god give us tears.
