Dark shadows pass me by, unoticed here in my solitude.
i wish i could reach past all these barriers and just touch the truth.
lies wrap around me, sapping my strength, making me fade,
missing a certain component maybe, when i was made.

the heat of a thousand flames can bring me no joy, no light to faze the black,
i sit here and wallow, shivering, sustaining my lack.
this world is not for me to walk, shadows are my home,
in darkness i travel, in sadness i roam.

I am reading your poems from the page you provided.
I like them.
I have read many poets who put words together what make no sense. I guess one is to find feeling in a single word alone but most have to connect to get any content.
All your words connect and I like what I feel. Although, they are sad but sad is good when that is what your poems are meant to be.
Don't live life so fast, dear, you are still at the beginning .... save some for the end.

thanks hunni... im not living fast... just average speed for a single mother of two small kids who is trying to have a life in between studying, cleaning, rearing the kiddies (no small feat), writing some poems/song lyrics, and of course chatting on here. while still trying to find a half decent guy who will not mistake me for a doormat/love toy/gobshite/convenience lay.

We are all average, sweetness. Sometimes the wheels in our heads get speedy, or we rev our engines impatient at the stop light, try too hard to stay up with traffic, get angry with lane changers.

Its an easy drive, through life, enjoy the scenary. Your poems are sad, sad is what you are attracted to and sad is what you will find. Sad is good if that is what you expect and like, makes for good love stories and drama.

I would like to see you smile.

Well i see ur poem as a real true expression of feelings that are more often than not unacceptable to express in day to day life, we are all mostly expected to 'keep a stiff upper lip' yeah and old fashioned expression that but very ture of our society i beleive. to quote pink floyd, "hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way".
Sad feelings are very powerful and run deep, i relate to ur words and accept you feeling that at that moment in time. there is always time to smile laugh, but theres also the times where we go somewhere deeper. I wish I could write like you do to capture the feeling like you did. it was a pleasure to read.
