A valentine wish
For a valentine so true
If you cant be near me today
My valentines would be blue

unfortunitly i have no valentine to serenade,
but i do have vodka to dilute this lemonade,
so the lack of a lap on which to rest my head,
is not gonna make me lie awake in bed.

im not gonna ponder lifes little if's and but's,
and im not gonna cover my wrist with little cuts,
being without a better half to buy flowers for today,
is not likely to fill my heart with dismay.

i look on the bright side, which i now contemplate,
no need to spend on cards roses or chocolate,
no need to return ill fitting novelty boxers to stores,
and i dont have to volunteer to do chores.
