For Donnie….

The light, along a solitary ridge
Lies like a lover, prostrate, clinging to
the curves of green kindled to palest gold

I see… and then in dream..its him and me
And I am sunlight laid along his skin…
In touching’s silent speech I speak my love

Pity the sun…and does the sky have eyes
That bind the heart and flesh, to draw
him down..like mine, to sink into his blue?

He sculpts my body with his hand and then
He shapes me to a rigid ecstasy
of fire, flesh stiffening to stone, then tears

pour out the fullness that my heart can’t hold!
The light has fled the hillside…left alone,
Naked and cold, dream dies beneath the rain.
