I started writing a book a year ago..wanted to move on from poetry and journals and so on.
Don't think i'd ever get it published, though. Too personal, it's more for my peace of mind than anything, as it's based on my previous relationships.
It has SOME sense of humour to it, but.....other times it's very gloomy.
I'm not a brilliant writer anyway

have you got any poerty or anything up on here? I'll have a check!
I'm not a good writer either but I don't mind sharing some things, and I like reading other peoples.

I shall repost some of the things I wrote a couple of years back, they are on here somewhere but under 'anon' now as I have had other accounts before this one

there's that attitude again tut tut, mhmm I can be the same though, write something and then read it and think oh dear, and why exactly did I write that? I like depressing poetry, but I'm strange, I think it gives a poem feeling...

| lol the dream hasn't changed ( and i'm still having it ) but i am able to remember more of the 'finer' details etc !! i'm still plodding along with it, it's up to just over 500 pages now, where i've read it, edited bits, deleted bits etc etc |

Not strange at all. I think spike milligan wrote some of his best stuff in his darkest moments.

I usually can only write when i'm angry/upset or whatever...but unfortunately i've had a bad writers block recently

I think everybody has got at least one book within them, because everybody has a story or three to tell from their lives.
I had quite an original idea on how to write my biography, but i am going to hold on to it until it is time, i have more living to do yet.

for those of you that have written or are writing books, how do you go about it ?
i only ask because basicly all i do, is i think for a few minutes about the actual story line, then load ms word, close my eyes and just type ( i can touch type btw lol)
it has been known for me to sit for upto 3 hours non-stop typing, at one point i was so engaged with what was going on in my head that i didn't even hear the phone ringing !

I do a bit of both, I start off your way and then at some point (hours/days/weeks) I add some notes and try to build it all up; the characters, and all the questions of when, where, why and how that person is. But...I've never finished a book yet, only shorts, I always start something but then don't finish it, usually cus I don't think it's that good in the end. But this one...I WILL BLOODY FINISH? Is this your first novel?
07.05.2008, 15:39 quote

| i only ask because i'm writing a book myself, it's only about 400 pages so far but then i've only been writing it since the beginning of january. Planning on having it finished by july, then i have to save up around £5500 to get it published, unless i can get it endorsed. should be a giggle !!
Anyone else into writing books or has anyone sucessfully writen and published one?? |
ONLY 400 pages!!
Sounds good to me mate, well done! I have started planning a book myself. I started one about 10 years ago and gave up on it because I was doing other things. But this time it's going to be different I have more time now.
I havent looked into getting it published though, what is the £5500 for!??
