i only ask because i'm writing a book myself, it's only about 400 pages so far but then i've only been writing it since the beginning of january. Planning on having it finished by july, then i have to save up around £5500 to get it published, unless i can get it endorsed. should be a giggle !!

Anyone else into writing books or has anyone sucessfully writen and published one??

That's great! so what's it about or is that a secret for now? There are other writers on fbx you may 'tease them out' eventually, but I've got an idea that there was a thread about this last year sometime. Maybe the mod can find it.

I'm not really a writer but I have been formulating some ideas around 3 books I would like to write someday. One has been in my mind since I was 17, but I needed certain life experiences to be able to write it, so much of what I have done in this life has been motivated from these earlier ideas.

I've never been paid for anything I've written, but I have had a number of specialised articles published over the years and all health related but the ones I want to write now are something different.

My other half has had some books published. I wish I had the patience, one book can take years to research, write...then find an agent, get a publisher interested blahblah.
I myself have had a few shorter articles in various magazines/journals, but mostly gratis and not enough to make me rich sadly haha.

The idea for the book actually came from a dream i've been having, every night for the last nearly 5 months now ( rather annoying too ) it's erm i dunno an action/adventure/hero complex/romance thing all rolled into one.

I'll buy a copy (seriously), not cos it sounds good, but cos I can then say to people, yeah, I've got a new book, I know this author......

(That has got to be the saddest thing I have ever written on here)

But I will buy a copy though, can I have it signed:

To Jony Mack (Superstar), you are my hero, s6boystu (kiss kiss)

signed copies ? lol !! i don't even know if i'll ever get it published !!

The research part of it was fun, i know a fair few bmw owners and a specific point in the book has a car chase, so i had to 'validate' that a BMW M6 can hit 175 mph. Bruntingthorp airstrip is great Cool

s6boystu keep working at it. I have been writing music, lyrics and poetry ever since I left secondary school and sold my first piece before I was 18 years old. I started performing music at 7 years and althogh I don't perform music live anymore I still write. My poetry is mostly written for performance, but there has been some published over the years. Some has been written for the page but works in performance, some for performance but works on the page, some will not move well from one to the other. It can be very hard to get published, the knockbacks can be very disconcerting. Many very successful writers have been rejected many times before publication. If there is a market for what you are writing then you may get the breaks, but it is not guaranteed. Nose to the grindstone!

ah you are a writer too! Are there many more here have you found?

Same dream for 5 months, wow, that's certainly inspiration enough.

Do you write new stuff from the dream as the dream changes?

I've just started my latest one, and I'm hoping this is gonna be a good one...I have a feeling...here's hoping.

It's kinda Thomas Hardy meets Emily Bronte but I'm still working on a lot of the details, just getting stuck in at the mo.

My last one (unfinished as yet) was a sadistic cult thing, so the new one is quite a change...somewhat relief lol

Good luck with yours anyway
