I bet there's a few young ones thinking eh, or I don't like doowop.
Well I bet some of you like Blondie's Denise don't you, well where do you think that come from.
Its from the 60's by a group called Randy & The Rainbows.
Anyway some of my favs are -: The Earls - Remember Then (Showaddywaddy did a cover of this)
The Barriers - Tonight Tonight
The Crowns - Possibility (very much reminiscent of Remember Then)
The Fascinaters - Oh Rose Marie
Randy & The Rainbows - Debbie
The Royal Teens - Believe Me (the words in this song remind me of what happened to Mandy not to long ago)
I do have many more but that will do for now

Mud did a few fab album tracks back in darkest history! in those days when we bought those big black platters called records!
Les Gray did some brilliant doo wop on stage as well! showaddywaddy were great exponents too but how about digging further into history and listening to Louis Jordan! There you can find some real roots of doowop!

Just been listening to some of Louis Jordan song samples on amazon, they sound more like Jazz/rhythm & blues to me.
Maybe he did make some early doowop.
Point me in the right direction, let me have a listen at some of his doowop stuff, would be very interesting.
Also we had Frankie Lymon & the teenagers, then we had his brother Lewis Lymon and the teenchords <--- don't think I have heard any of his stuff.
And talking of Platters we had just them also, pretty good IMO.
