Saying that, I will listen to heavier stuff. Mainly when it's inflicted on me at my regular hangout, though Laughing

Seconded!

Would Rock City be your hangout by any chance then?

As for the metal question I stick mainly to Thrash with the occasional bit of Nu-Metal thrown in for good measure.

Saying that though I listen to a lot of classic rock (read: brain rock) and prog rock too.

Death Metal isn't really my scene although I can listen to it quite happily when need be.

I used to have a few mates in Nottingham and would go up there on weekends and hit Rock City. I was actually present the night the TV cameras were there making part of series of documentaries on heavy metal, and filmed the infamous "doom dancing" episode. Thankfully I was not pissed enough to get in front of the cameras myself.

i usually listen to anything that has a guitar in it.

My friend introduced me to most of the metal bands i listened to which includes, but is not limited to,

Tool, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, NiN, metallica, Judas Priest, a tiny bit of "children of bodom", etc.

Rock on!

Without having been to Rock City for about 6 or 7 years I still know what you mean - my local (ex)hangout has gone that way too (The Krazy House - pretty much Liverpool's answer to Rock City, but smaller).

Now everybody hangs out in the salutation and Tap (which is on the next street to Rock Shitty!) and by the time they close...everybody is too pissed to care who or what is in rock city Laughing

Yeah similar situation here too. Shame really - I used to love spending my weekends in the KH when the clientèle was better.

Still good for a laugh now and again though.

Yep.

I very rarely end up in rock city..unless i'm there against my will! (usually my friends drag me there. ugh.)

Tap closes at 3 on a friday/saturday..all they want on is ONE extra hour to get as much more booze in their system as they can! crazy, eh?
