I wouldn't go as far as a 'god'...but he is a legend Laughing

Hey Joe is my favourite, followed closely by the majority of the others.

I recorded the '7 ages of rock'..starting with the first one of it, which mainly focused on Hendrix...and I was amazed. I sat quiet for the whole hour (for a 19 year old female, that's pretty difficult!!)

Love Hendrix!

Even learned a little on the guitar - me brov said I sounded amazing when I played along so I must have been - even if he was tripping at the time Razz

I can't say I have a favorite, though mabe the bluesier stuff, Red House, See Ma Train A'Commin. Purple haze, used to sing Stone Free at the top of my lungs when pished, all of Electric Ladyland and Axis albums, and the others - nope, no favorites

haha well said Jamie, yep I think we're sticking with Hendrix's 'God' status! Also how could I have forgotten The Wind Cries Mary -genius song.

I also love his more bluesier stuff Scuba, Red House is brilliant.. also Who Knows is great..basically everything he did with Buddy Miles is brilliant in my opinion - what a class drummer.

I dabble on the guitar too unfortunately cant play left handed like Hendrix, but have got a Fender Stratocaster like him. Now if I can just learn to play like him... eek

I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan, but Voodoo Child is the work of a musical genius.

Gotta go with "Hey Joe".

Didnt realise that he would have been 65(??) this year.........

Went last week to see a tribute to him by The Hamsters. They are a full time touring band who have played with some of the giants of rock (battle of guitars, etc) and they really are worth a trip to see when they are next in your area (google search will find them and their itinerary)

I've seen them a few times - in '89/90! The Cartoon Club in Croydom! The Hamsters was one of my favorites, fab band!

Thanks for bringing that memory back Dodgy Wink

damn - Vi beat me to it - mine's All along the Watchtower as well - even if it's a cover. second in line is Voodoo Child.

many folk say good guitar players would sell their souls to the devil to play like hendrix - news flash - he was the devil

The Wind Cries Mary, amongst others.

Must admit I don't play his albums anymore though, tend to play the likes of Ben Harper and Warren Haynes now.

I love Jimi Hendrix and my fav is All along the watchtower, Red house, Stonefree and of course, Purple Haze which he came on stage playing when I saw him in 1967 (I think).
Can you believe our beloved Jimi was not even the top act of the show but was on the same bill as Englebert Humperdinck, Cat Stevens and The Walker Brothers!

My favourite is crosstown traffic, but I love hey joe, purple haze etc, not too keen on the blusey stuff even though I used to play some of it in a blues band.
